    Yakan handloomed fabrics are known for their bold colors and geometric patterns. The traditional Yakan art of weaving originated from the island of Basilan, where armed conflicts in the 70s through the 90s pushed the indigenous community to flee to Zamboanga City, where many of our artisans currently reside.
